Picking a Headset
Coming soon
Steam VR 1.0? 2.0?
PC Specs
specs to run ANY vr headset (but I never said well):
Video Card: NVIDIA GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon Vega 56 or greater
CPU: Intel Core i5-4590/AMD FX 8350 equivalent or greater
Memory: 8GB RAM
Video Output: DisplayPort 1.2
USB Ports: 1x USB 3.0 port
OS: Windows 10
About motherboards: Every headset has different USB requirements. Older motherboards don't supply as much power to the USB as newer ones. The more cameras a headset has (the rift S for example has 5, the vive cosmos has 6, windows headsets have anywhere from 2 to 4) the newer a motherboard you will probably need.
Your First VR Games
Welcome to VR, and to what we call VR sickness. You will have to build your tolerance to this new and strange reality over time. Even when not motion sick, you will likely experience what we call VR fatigue and eye dryness until you’ve become accustomed to longer play sessions. Even when you’re used to it, it will still sneak up on you when you’ve been very active in a game. To combat the large amount of people who go right into VRChat and immediately throw up, I have some recommendations.
Start with games where you don’t move!
Job Simulator, Tetris Effect, Let’s Create Pottery!
Games where you teleport
Vacation Simulator, Waltz of the Wizard, Half-Life Alyx
Do NOT continue to play once you feel sick or tired. STOP play immediately, or you will instead train your body to become sick when entering VR.
Do NOT jump straight into any kind of Vehicle Simulator or locomotion only games like VRChat you WILL throw up.
And please, remember to set your Guardian Boundaries (or Chaperone) to a safe distance AWAY from breakable or punchable things. You want it to go off BEFORE you swing at it and can’t stop your already in-motion hands. If you do not do this, I expect you to be posting to r/VRtoER
Don’t Leave Your Quest 2 Charging Unattended
Clear Your Playspace (Injuries)
DO NOT PLAY WITH THINGS IN YOUR SPACE. Learn from the days of the wii and broken vases. Do not be the guy who ends up in r/VRtoER. This is a 500 gram blindfold. Set your guardian/playspace boundaries a bit further back from the wall. You want a warning before you set up to swing at a shelf, not during the swing.

Accessories
Studioform Creative --You will want their products, trust me. For non-Quest 2 users these are the best head straps.
KIWI design --Has great head straps and their Quest 2 grips are amazing. Great Quest 2 protectors too.
ChillDex --Literally just an Index accessory that keeps me alive.
Rebuff Reality --NOTE: their ‘VR Ears’ are pretty heavy. Audio quality is not the best. Audiophiles will be upset.
Amazon.com: from XIAOZHAI --Extremely good Quest 2 accessories, like a new head strap and a fan.
https://www.razer.com/console-gaming/adjustable-head-strap-and-facial-interface-for-meta-quest-2/select-your-model Razer made some overpriced stuff but if you like it, here it is.https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Designed-Lightweight-immersive-passthrough/dp/B09X2GYH75?geniuslink=true Some more off-ear headphones for Quest, supposedly of good quality.
Premium USB-C Cable for Meta/Oculus Quest 2 - 5m – VR Cover North America
^^^ This cable is cheaper and better than the official link cable.
Amazon.com: Right Angle USB C 90 Degree Adapter, Cellularize (2 Pack) 40Gbps Type C Male to Female
^^^ a good anti-bend for other cables

Good alternative to the elite head strap, accepts a battery for a good counterweight.
https://www.bobovr.com/ Quest 2 Headstraps, some include a hot-swappable battery system to get even more playtime. No idea how good their headphones are. They also have an amazon store if you prefer to order from there. https://www.amazon.com/stores/page/F42F98B5-69FE-4A30-A196-5245D6993AA9

Full Body Tracking
AprilTag: Full body tracking using a webcam (preferably two, preferably HD) and a bunch of printed QR codes on cardboard you strap to your body. Results are shockingly good but a bit sluggish, and you can only be tracked as long as the tags are visible and the area is well-lit.
GitHub - ju1ce/April-Tag-VR-FullBody-Tracker: Full-body tracking in VR using AprilTag markers.
SlimeVR: The only system that lets you wear a blanket while being tracked fully. These are 'virtual' trackers that require more trackers to move a skeleton to make fake vive trackers for SteamVR. Incredibly accurate, and if you have 5 phones with accelerometers instead of magnetometers you can 'make your own' with some straps. Best batteries, too. Lighter than most options, but not by much. WORKS WITH QUEST OVER LINK!
SlimeVR Full-Body Tracker | Crowd Supply
SlimeVR.. With Nintendo Joycons: GitHub - carl-anders/slimevr-wrangler: Use Joycons as SlimeVR trackers with this middleware application
Tundra Trackers: A SteamVR-based system that's smaller than Vive Trackers, creating less wiggle. The real defining feature is the Tundra Dongles, which save you on USB ports by letting you pair any Tundra or Vive Trackers to them instead of individual dongles. I personally own these and like them a lot due to their light weight, they don’t wiggle much when moving.
Vive Trackers: The real OG, the 3.0's are smaller than the 2.0 with a bigger battery, but overall not worth it over the Tundra Trackers. Don't even consider the 2.0, Tundra Trackers are better for the same price.
VIVE Tracker (3.0) | VIVE United States
VIVE Tracker (3.0) | VIVE United States
HaritoraX: A tracking solution for Quest as well as other headsets made by a Japanese company. Battery is fantastic, but the straps are large and somewhat difficult to put on due to all the wires everywhere. Seems to be eternally in an unstable beta state, and communication with the company is difficult due to language barriers.HaritoraX 1.1 - Shiftall Inc.
KinectToVR: Do you have a kinect? Do you like utter dogshit? I'm not sure why people even use this system when AprilTag exists and needs about the same requirements but works more reliably.
https://www.shockwavesuit.com/ No idea if this any good, very few reviews I trust.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2370570/Standable_Full_Body_Estimation/ Fake full body that looks really good. Great for people without any trackers. That’s right, its FAKE for people with NO TRACKERS.
https://booth.pm/ja/items/4018006 Tracking smoother for a better experience.
Finding Your Avatar
So many games (VRChat, Chillout, Helios, Neos, Resonite, Cluster etc) will expect you to have your own avatar. Your virtual face, if you will. Most will want it repackaged in their own avatar format through Unity, others will want a universal format like VRM. I can’t guide you through every step of converting an avatar because that’s a job for google and youtube.. But I can tell you where to find avatars to get started.Legal Sources
https://gumroad.com/ Has a completely ass search feature but tons of avatars and avatar parts you can actually find in english.
https://jinxxy.com/ Only avatars and avatar accessories, but not as well known or well used as the others.
https://booth.pm/en Tons and tons of avatars, probably the most.. But you’re going to need google translate so you can use japanese to search around.
https://store.vket.com/en Not much here, but more is added every vket.
Dubiously Legal Sources
https://vrcmods.com/ Some of these avatars are ripped or made of MMD parts against the creator’s will. Use with caution.
Illegal Sources

Fucking In VR
The above is a link to toys that are compatible with VR sex mods.
VRCHAT
Free OSC based system, mostly for Japanese users: XXXHaptics2
Free system for everything you could want, SDK3, works TPS and OSC: http://vrbrations.com/
animated fucking (no vibes) for 10 bucks: Dynamic Penetration System for VRChatYou no longer need DPS but I’m leaving it there in case you for some reason do. You should switch to TPShttps://www.poiyomi.com/TPS/wizard
CHILLOUTVR
free system to vibe your toy: Vibe Goes Brrr~
Trying to fuck in either of the above is probably best done using Poiyomi shaders due to existing support for other tools through its TPS feature.
OTHER
Other buttplug.io supported games. Some are VR-supported like Custom Maid 3D 2, Skyrim, or Minecraft, others aren’t.A list of awesome projects that use the Buttplug Sex Toy Control Library
Some free advice from one degenerate to another:
👏TELEDILDONICS👏ARE👏LOUD👏
Lovense is the premium brand for VR sex. Not because of quality, but because of compatibility through either Buttplug.io or built-in compat. Don’t just buy the first toy that looks good enough, though. While the Calor has depth tracking and heating on top of being quite small, it has manual squeezing which may not be your deal. The Max 2 has been the gold standard for years and it’s only going to have further and further price drops. It also auto-squeezes your hog which is rad, I hear tons of good things. Also easy to clean, VRChat users love it.
Kiiroo's Onyx+ is the runner-up. Gotta thrust yourself, but it's quieter and feels more realistic. Doesn't have the air pump the Max 2 has, so you'll miss out on a lot of the powerful squeezing. Compatibility is fine, but it's clearly a device meant for VR porn and not for fucking other people.
Anything Fleshlight brand is bad. Don't. They're glitchy, they're built cheaply, and people keep cumming on their phones with the Quickshot Launch.
